I really don’t know what to say about Forest Gump, which hasn’t been said yet. The Oscar-winning film solidified Tom Hanks as a genuine film star when it hit theaters in 1994. Hanks’ Gump is a revelation. Thirty years later, the classic is still robbing in the best possible way.

New Line Cinema

Ice Cube surprised audiences everywhere when he dumped his signature average hip-hop persona to lead Sleeper Comedy on Friday. Here he plays Craig, the straight man on the other side of Chris Tucker’s Smokey. The dynamics of their relationship are contagious and the biggest reason why this film works. It became a successful franchise in the fourth sequel of the film. But the first one is still the best.

Warner Bros.

Martin Scorsese’s Goodfellas is a mafia movie powerhouse. Everything about this film – it becomes an absolute classic from Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, smart lighting, visceral violence and a memorable one-liner performance. Enjoy this movie by saying, “Get a Shine Box.”

Lost the count of missions. It’s an impossible movie now. But one thing I haven’t forgotten is how great the initial installment is actually. When the action thriller first hit theatre, Tom Cruise was already an A-list actor. However, he wasn’t actually broken as an action star. This changed everything and helped push the medium into the new millennium.

When Titanic premiered, it was a phenomenon. I had a friend who went to the theatres repeatedly to watch James Cameron’s blockbuster disaster film. Droping the jaws as if this release had the effect, the chemistry between Leonardo DiCaprio (who played Jack) and Kate Winslet (Rose) elevated the story, making it a grand love story that still resonates with the audience today.

What is being said about Jurassic Park, which has not yet been said? Steven Spielberg brought Michael Criton’s hit book back to life, almost changing the way dinosaurs were painted on screen. The film was a big deal when it premiered and introduced an array of jaw-dropping special effects. Thirty years later, the franchise continues to expand. But while it’s great to see Dino dominate the big screen, these films never achieve the glory of the original.

Lions Gate

As you can see, this list includes two films starring Keanu Reeves. I hadn’t planned this, but Peacock has a John Wick and the Matrix franchise. I argue that all John Wick’s films are worth streaming, but the first installment has the special energy of the original story that spreads the wings. And to think about it, all this could have been avoided if they hadn’t ruined John Wick’s dog.

Julia Roberts won an Oscar for her lead role in Stephen Soderbergh’s Erin Broccovich. The film is based on Broccovich’s life and her evolution from his three divorced mothers to a horrific investigative paralegal who took over Pacific gas and electricity under the guidance of Albert Finney’s Ed, and exposed to contaminate the water supply of the local community.

Mike Nichols directed this comedic classic, inspired by the 1978 French film La Cage Aux Folles. Leading by Robin Williams and Nathan Lane, the film follows the story of a proud, proud gay couple who have to hide their relationship when the conservative parents of their son’s fiancée visit. Gene Hackman and Diane Wyst are great, with Hank Azaria’s Agador Spartacus stealing the show.

Wachowskis kicked The The Genre in 1999 when The Matrix premiered in theaters. The film, which has produced a series of sequels, animated spinoffs and a series of comic books, tells the story of Neo (Keanu Reeves). A dystopian nightmare in which he is recognized as a potential savior for humanity. Hey, there’s nothing big, is it? Not only did the film promote Reeves to be a massive hit superstar, it also introduced groundbreaking special effects, pushing the genre out and leading the film production itself into the 21st century.

Jaws turns 50 this year. This is crazy to type. Steven Spielberg’s action film about vengeful sharks has changed the way the film is made. This was our first summer hit here – for no reason. The film is full of Alfred Hitchcock-style suspense, but it’s the dynamics of lead actors Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfus and Robert Shaw. Come to Quint’s (Shaw) Epic Drunk Monologue.Yes 4) Great White is actually on the screen for a few minutes.

Christopher Nolan’s Oscar-winning film explores the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer (perfectly played by Syrian Murphy), a physicist who played a pivotal role in the development of the atomic bomb. The story unfolds throughout the various points of Oppenheimer’s life, providing a balanced and thought-provoking appearance for the man who pushed the world to the brink. The production values, direction and performances from the ensemble cast brought the epic cinema experience. It’s no wonder the film brought home an Academy Award for Best Picture.
