7 tips to follow when starting feathers
wuchang: Falled feather It’s not a revolutionary Souls-like title aimed at changing subgenres, but it’s currently attracting the attention of many players. Day 1 of Xbox Game Pass. However, Wuchang has some issues with unlocking certain mechanics, and there are a bit of problems with the players.
Woochan It makes some changes to Souls-like formulas established by FromSoftware, the developer of Demon’s Souls and Dark Souls. These changes aren’t laid out very clearly, and unfortunately add a layer of difficulty to the game that doesn’t need to be there.
If you’re struggling with Wuchang, here are some tips to help you win the game.
Get the sword counter
An easy way to get started is a better explanation of the sword counter. Shrines are available in the Impetus repository (leveling grid), but do not require many levels to unlock. Sword Counter is the equivalent of Parry found in other Software games. It looks like a standard block, but when you adjust the timing, you accept the attack and take no damage.
But that’s not all. Next to the sword counter node on the grid is two variants worth getting. By unleashing all three, when enemies attack you, you can deflect their attacks and knock them on the ground and sneak them up with extra hits.
What should be kept in mind is that the sword counter can only deflect weapon attacks, so it cannot paralyze enemy punches or kicks. Also, with bosses, your bias may just give you a window to get free hits, but they are of great value in raising the boss’s erasure meter, which is a circle that increases after consecutive attacks. If you fill in this, the boss will be distorted. This allows serious attacks to deal significant damage.
Unlock weapon upgrades
In addition to improved attacks, new weapon abilities, and increased statistics, the Impetus repository (the name of the game in that skill tree) has nodes that improve weapon classes. You must first unlock the node, then acquire the feather and upgrade the weapon. Weapon class upgrades affect all weapons, so improving Longswords with +3 means that all Longswords in the game will also be +3.
These upgrades require specific items. These are usually seen by harsher enemies with red eyes and can be purchased from merchants. It has the faint, shining red feathers needed for an upgrade, and the glowing ones are the best of the three.
I always respect you
One useful mechanic in Wuchang is the option to take on or reassign the upgrade at any time. If you feel that you are a little weak or that there is something you have not tried yet, be sure to take charge – don’t worry, it is free and can be repeated indefinitely.
The Impetus repository has the option to undo the upgrade to only one node. Or you can run it across the path. If a weapon like x works well against a boss, but there’s one boss too fast to land an attack, it’s time to respond and try another weapon. There is no shame in doing so. And who knows? New weapons may become your favorite.
Please wear the right equipment
Like other sulphurs, the poison name in this game has a variety of status effects that accumulate over time, such as burns and blight. Enemies in certain regions focus on a variety of status effects in their attacks, including how enemies in cold weather cause frostbite buildup. There are consumable items that can be used to remove effects or to stop accumulation, but for status effects such as despair or corruption, if the armor’s resistance is not high enough, you can be killed almost immediately from the effect. If you find that is happening (and you can know that it occurs due to the status effect icon in the center of the screen), consider changing the equipment to better resist the status effect you are encountering.
Ushan’s armor is very situational. Some offer many slashes and stab wounds, which are great for bosses with swords and spears, but may not provide protection against blight. In general, armor, which is best for protecting against physical attacks, is scary for stat effects. Therefore, you can die almost instantly in a particular area. If you notice that it’s going on, switch the armor on the right occasion.
Explore, explore, explore
Like some great souls with quality level designs like Wuchang, there are many different paths available and there are easy to overlook. While so many Ushan’s side passes appear to lead to dead ends, you’ll be surprised how many people lead to whole new territory. Not only can you find powerful items and weapons, there is an entire section of the map with your bosses that you may have skipped. I missed multiple places when I ran through the game via the first level. If you have issues with your boss, take a little time and retreat a bit and explore every corner of the area.
Another point to keep an eye on is the teleport options at the shrine. If there are NPCs that need to talk about, there is a small face next to the list of locations. These NPCs can provide you with items and help with boss fights, but some aren’t right next to the shrine. Generally, places where there are no enemies and things like fires tend to be where NPCs will eventually appear.
If you’re angry, just die
Perhaps the most interesting mechanic in wuchang is the insanity effect, which increases the global damage you deal with and deal in return. Madness can increase or decrease depending on the enemy you kill, but it increases significantly after death. If Wuchang’s madness exceeds 90%, the next time she dies, an orb in the location where death occurred appears in the inner demon, and if it kills you or is defeated, the madness meter will return to zero. This is very interesting for longtime soul players. Because it acts as a punishment for players that can be easily overcome and in a way it helps relieve the frustration of dying.
However, there is a problem. If you die again and again at the boss’s hand, the orb is inside the boss’ arena and the inner demons will not be born. As a result, madness does not increase damage, while over 90% increase damage to the attack. You can defeat enemies and lower them, or donate them to Shusanktum statues, but when you die, the crazy meter will fire you.
If this happens to you, you will just bite a bullet and ideally die somewhere else, right near the shrine. Once you respawn, you can head towards the orb and unload the demons inside, then you can return to Zero Madness.
Don’t forget
There are certain shiny spots throughout the game that are not indications. It could be a statue, ur, or a marker for a tomb. If you inspect these locations, the message will pop up with some blue words. Those words can be “pay your respect” or “tai chi.”
If you come across these spots, pose or emotes, pull up the menu. You will see multiple poses such as worship, research, and very obvious Tai Chi. Suppose a pose at a particular location unlocks clues about Wuchang’s past or gives up on an item.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is available for $50 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series consoles. Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play the game as part of their subscription.
