“I can’t change people’s minds. Everything I have to do is go on the pitch and try to do my best for the club.
“Roy Keene was a great captain for the club. He’s the best captain, as everyone says. I haven’t had the chance to see a lot from him, but he’s been a great player who has won everything for the club, even though it’s only been in the last few years.
βHe has great respect from everyone and I have my respect. He has to express his views on the program, and this is what he thinks about me.
“I’m trying to do something I’m doing on the pitch to try to change his mind, or something that he thinks is probably a good thing. Obviously, I do that in my own way, I don’t want anyone to copy.
“I’m trying to be the best captain I can do for my teammates, trying to help everyone in the best ways I can and in the best ways I know.
“There’s a lot to improve not only as a captain, but as a player, as a person, as a person, as a person, as a person, as a person, that’s fine.
“Criticism will always be part of (the game), and it will help me grow and realize there is still a long way to go.”
