Newcastle striker Alexander Isaac has no idea about his future ahead of Wembley’s showdown with Liverpool
Alexander Isaac says he can achieve his career goals in Newcastle, but he said he was vague when asked to discuss future plans.
Swedish International has evolved into one of the premier league’s leading strikers since moving from Real Sociedad to Tyneside in 2022, scoring 50 goals on just 77 top flights.
That record led to speculation that Newcastle will connect him with Arsenal and Liverpool, whom he will meet in Sunday’s EFL Cup final.
The 25-year-old has been on a contract at St. James Park until 2028 and asked about his long-term ambitions today. “That’s why I came here. I’ve said many times I don’t think much about my future.
“I’ve been happy here many times and we’ve said you’re competing for the title you want as a footballer. We’ve been to the last one, but now we’re in another.
“There’s a chance. You have to watch one season at a time. You can win trophies this season. I’ve said I’m focused on working a lot. All of our focus is on getting the Sundays and the trophies back.”
Alex Isaac before the Carabao Cup final:
“I feel good. I’m really excited about the game. The best way to prepare is to train as normal. That’s going to come down to what we can do as a team.

I have high ambitions – Isaac
He added: “I just want to be the best version of myself. I have high ambitions. I’m trying to make my own history in Newcastle. I’m happy with what I’ve done so far, but I’m always looking forward to it.
“It’s tough work, training and wanting to get better. I have the ambition to achieve in my career and become the best version of myself.”
ISAK is perfectly suited to play against Liverpool
Isaac missed a recent league fixture against Liverpool – Newcastle lost 2-0 at Anfield, but with the final two games, the FA Cup loss to Brighton Monday’s 1-0 Premier League victory at West Ham.
And he insists he is perfectly fitting for a trip to Wembley.
“I’m not injured. I felt a bit tired. That (media coverage) was dramatic,” he said.
“It feels good. I’m really excited about the game. The best way to prepare is to train as usual. That’s going to come down to what we do as a team, and that’s all we can focus on. I’m excited, but I’m focusing on work.”
