Stock rally acquires steam over a wide range
Market Monday rally picked up steam in a late afternoon trade.
The Dow scored 500 points (1.2%) around 2:30 PM ET. The S&P 500 rose 1%. Even the Nasdaq composite, oppressed by the struggle between large-scale high-tech stocks, rose 0.8%.
Wall Street was in the mood for a few dips in the afternoon. Only the S&P 500 shares were down, but only two Dow stocks fell. All 11 major S&P 500 sectors are up, most are up over 0.9%.
