Elton John, Madonna exchanges words after decades of feud
Madonna and Elton John It seemed to “fill the hatch” after decades of feud.
On Monday, the “Material Girl” crooner explained that his recent break-in with John was a sincere reunion.
“We’ve finally filled out hatch!!” Madonna wrote on Instagram along with a photo of her and the “Rocketman” singer. “I went to see @eltonjohn appearing on SNL this weekend!! Amazing. I remember when I was in high school. I came out of the house to watch Elton perform live in Detroit!

“When I was in high school, seeing him perform changed the course of my life,” she continued. “I always felt the outsider grow up and see him on stage, which helped me realize that being prominent was okay.
“It hurts me to know that for decades the people I admired have publicly shared his disgust as an artist,” she added. “I didn’t understand that.”

“I had to go backstage and stand up to him,” she said. “When I met him, the first thing I met through his mouth was, ‘Forgive me,’ and the wall between us fell. Forgiveness is a powerful tool. Within minutes we were hugging. ”
“Then he told me (he) wrote a song for me, and he wanted to cooperate,” she concluded. “It all seemed to be a perfect circle!! And you can say to everyone, ‘This is your song.’ ”

Madonna and John began to rebuttal in the early 2000s after the British singer said that Madonna’s song in the new 007 film “Die Another Day” was “the worst bond song ever.”
“There were no songs,” he said at the time. “They should have gone for people like Lulu or Shirley Bassey, or maybe I’m in that league? I don’t think that’s the best Madonna record. I’m a huge fan.”

In 2004, John accused Madonna of lip-syncing while accepting the classic songwriter award at the Q Awards.

“Madonna, the best live act? f—off. When was Lip Sync live?” he said. “Anyone who is doing a staged public lip sync to pay £75 should take a photo. Thank you.”

The jabs before and after were lasting for many years, but in 2023 John thanked Madonna for his advocacy in the fight against AIDS.
“Thank you Madonna, for raising your advocacy and compassion, and for raising important awareness of your ongoing mission to end AIDS,” John wrote. Instagram at the time.
