SpaceX, Partners emerge as favorites to build Trump’s Golden Dome Project: Report

Elon Musk SpaceX And two of its partners have emerged as the forefront to build a part of President Donald Trump’s Golden Dome missile defense system, the report says.
SpaceX is partnering with software maker Palantir and defense technology company Anduril for a joint bid. All three companies will meet with the Pentagon with top Trump administration officials in recent weeks to pitch the proposal, sources said. Reuters.
Their plan is to build and launch more than 400 to 1,000 satellites to track missile movements around the world, sources said. A fleet of 200 attack satellites armed with missiles or lasers will eliminate enemy projectiles, but SpaceX groups are not expected to play a role in weaponizing those satellites, sources added.
The White House, the Department of Defense, SpaceX, Palantir and Anduril did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Fox business on Thursday.

Trump ordered Construction of advanced next-generation missile defense shields to protect the United States from automotive attacks.
In January he signed an executive order appointing Secretary of Defense Pete Hegses to plan on building an “Iron Doll” to protect Americans from the threat of missiles set up by foreign enemies.

so far, pentagon US officials told Reuters that it has attracted interest from over 180 companies to help build the project.

The press also reported that SpaceX proposed that the government would have the US government pay access to the technology, rather than letting the government make its government own part of the Golden Dome project entirely.
