Cornell u students denounced the university for hosting anti-Semitic singers
Pro-Israel Cornell University students are bashing the school to host upcoming concerts featuring well-known anti-Israeli R&B artists.
As reported by Washington Free Beaconthe furious student signed a petition calling on Vite Un-Vite musician Kehlani to Cornell by performing at the school’s annual “Slope Day” concert on May 7th. Kehlani shared multiple anti-Israel messages on her music and social media pages, including a call to “Intifada.”
“The fact that the university allows performers to bring in with them the view that students are actively calling for violence to events that are supposed to represent all students makes me feel like I’m not a respected member of this community.” The petition stated.

Earlier this month, Cornell University announced that Grammy-nominated artists will headlining concerts, an annual show held by the Student-Managed Board and funded through student activity fees that all undergraduate students must pay.
The fee for the 2024-2025 academic year is $384 per student, and is expected to rise to $424 for the next academic year, the free beacon reports.
However, pro-Israel and Jewish students opposed the board’s decision to hire Kelani and pointed to various social media posts that have since been shared October 7th Hamastero Attack In Israel.

In the other, she called out “Zionist” following her social media accounts, saying, “A Earth Con artist. You’re an Earth Con man. I can’t imagine Zionists still following me, but I’m going to hell.”
She also shared a post expressing her hope that the Palestinians take over the entire state of Israel, calling for Intifadas in a music video for her song.Next 2 u. “In the video, the words flashed on the screen with the words ‘Long Live The Intifada’. This is a message that the Jews saw as a call to overthrow Israel vigorously.
Kerani and her dancers were able to be seen wearing clothes wearing videos that incorporate black and white Keffiyeh Scarf Designoften worn by Palestinians to signal opposition to the Jewish state.
In a petition calling on Cornell to hire another singer, a pro-Israel Cornell student argued that Kelani’s anti-Israel message “goes beyond political critique” and chased the “major Jews” in schools that view themselves as Zionists.

Cornell University president Michael Kotorikov responded to pro-Israel students involved, saying that last Thursday that school staff had not discovered “about the performer’s social media almost three weeks ago,” adding that it was “too late to secure another performer that is acceptable or appropriate on the slope day.”
He tried to appease the complainers by saying the school would “change that contract and make it clear that if there is a political event in the performance, the entire compensation will be completely confiscated.”
