Stock ETFs are leading the inflow, but investors still want safety
On Thursday, April 17th, US-listed ETFs saw a net inflow of $8.2 billion. The US market closed on Friday.
US equity ETFs led the fees, pulling in $3.8 billion, followed by US fixed income ETFs attracting $2.3 billion. The International Equity ETF also contributed $2.3 billion, continuing its global diversification trend amid uncertainty in trade policy.
The most popular fund of the day was Vanguard Short-Term Bonds ETF (BSV)a work worth over $2.1 billion. Investors have also been loaded Vaneck Semiconductor ETF (SMH)adding $1.4 billion, suggesting a new appetite for risk in some areas of the market.
ISHARES Russell 2000 ETF (IWM) and SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) Each saw over $1.1 billion inflows, but technology-focused vehicles Investco QQQ Trust Series I (QQQ) and ISHARES Russell 1000 GrowthETF (IWF) He also recorded strong profits.
On the redemption side, iShares Core S&P 500 ETF (IVV) LED leaks continue after a $1.2 billion decline, followed by Vanguard Total Bond Market ETF (BND)reduced by $1.1 billion. SPDR Gold Stock (GLD) Seeing a $521 million outflow suggests that some investors have retreated from defensive trading.
Sector ETFs like Consumer Staple Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLP) and Financial Select Sector SPDR Fund (XLF) I also experienced a modest spill.
Depending on the asset class, reverse ETFs saw a decent inflow of $443 million, but leveraged funds and the monetary funds recorded redemptions. Commodity ETF also had downdays and lost $154 million.
