The Wyoming Department of Transport said on social media that it was “in the process of assessing tunnel infrastructure” with a team of geologists and bridge engineers.
According to the Wyoming Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 11:37am at the westbound Green River Tunnel, causing a fire inside the tunnel.

The highway remained closed in both directions on Friday evening, with the eastbound lanes of the tunnel being used to staging the first responders.
