The Atlanta Braves’ losing streak reached five games on Friday.

Olson rounded up the 3 base and headed home after teammate Shawn Murphy hit a flyball into the outfield. The second ball landed near the home plate shortly after Giants right fielder Mike Yastrzemski’s throw entered catcher Patrick Bailey’s mitt.

The extra baseball seemed to put Bailey, Olson and others in a brief state of confusion.

“Where did the other balls come from?” asked the Giants broadcaster.
“(It came out of the top deck),” his broadcast partner replied. “Some clowns threw baseball on the field. I’ve never seen it.”

“That’s the first,” Melvin said. “I’ve never seen it. I don’t know where it came from. I don’t know what the rules are. I think everyone was a bit surprised by that. It didn’t affect the play, but it was very strange to see another baseball come on the field.”
The Braves dropped their sixth straight game on Saturday afternoon after the Giants hit a two-run walk-off homer in a 3-2 victory in nine innings.
