England v Senegal – lineup, statistics, preview
Match preview of England v Senegal
After a 1-0 win over Andorra on Saturday, England will return to action in the hopes of a better show when they welcome Senegal at City Grounds on Tuesday.
It has been England’s first appearance at his home in Nottingham Forest since 1941, offering fans the opportunity to show what is truly capable under new head coach Thomas Tushell.
Tuchel’s reign began with three consecutive clean sheets at Andorra despite consecutive March wins and a dull display of the team in Barcelona.
The three Lions have won six times in a row since the defeat of the nations’ leagues at the top of Greece and the World Cup Qualifier Group K.
Meanwhile, Senegal will take part in a clash boasting an unbeaten run of 23 games (W16, D6). They lost in the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations Finals by a penalty, but the Telanga Lions have not been defeated within 90 minutes of mid-2022.
On Friday, they recovered a 1-1 draw with Ireland through Ismaila Sar and remained a difficult team to break down by admitting that they had a goal in one of their final 25 matches.
This is the first meeting between the sides since the 2022 World Cup quarterfinals when England won 2-0.
I’m proud to represent #threelions ❤❤️
