MSNBC hosts Ali Velshi and Chris Hayes appeared surprised that the military parade event in Washington, DC on Saturday had not emitted “dark and evil energy.” Donald Trump‘s rallies.

“One thing I say is, Ali, Ali, I repeat, when we talk about things like tension in the country, and sometimes you and I have both been at Trump rallies. Hayes asked Versi.

Military Parade Saturday coincided with Trump’s 79th birthday in honor of the US Army’s 250th anniversary. But the parade came as riots and protests continue in Los Angeles and across the country over Trump administration’s policies.

“You’re really right about it, Chris, that’s what we were seeing. I’m amazed at how many people are in front of the parade, cheering, then asking them to take a selfie, which is a very different feeling.

The military parade brings out patriotic Americans from close to far: “We don’t have much more time to come to DC.”

Versi said that politicization was still present in the event, but it was dark and not tense.

“Now there’s someone walking around with signs. A while ago, while you were talking to Jen, a man just came in and said, ‘Trump 2028!” And I said, “How exactly does it work?” And he laughed, there was some politicization here, but it wasn’t nervous.

Hayes nurtured “frenzy” Protests across the country In a small town, we asked MSNBC host Jen Psaki about the country’s “citizen culture.”

Liberal media blends in with Trump’s military parade program, calling it “authoritarianism.”

“I think there’s a sense of hope. This speaks to what Ali is experiencing. The civic and democratic culture of the country is actually very powerful and the enormous assets we have when we compare ourselves to other places.

MSNBC’s Jen Psaki said hearing it was “encouraging” to be “calm and not over-exercise amongst attendees.”

But Psaki said calm could change depending on what President Trump said during his speech at the parade.
