Almarai buys pure drinks from bottled drink producers


Saudi Arabian food and beverage group Almarai has agreed to acquire the local bottled beverage business pure beverage industry company for SR1.04 ($277 million).

In an inventory exchange filing yesterday (June 15th), Almarai said the transaction was in line with “a growth strategy to expand the beverage portfolio and enhance consumer delivery.”

Almalai, who sells dairy and juice products under the brand of the same name, added: “We are confident that this acquisition will create value for shareholders.”

Headquartered in Riyadh, Pure Beverages Industry Company owns the Ival and OSKA brands in its Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam factories.

According to its website, Pure Beverages Industry Company was founded in 1979 by the Saudi conglomerate Ajlan & Bros. Group.

Almarai plans to fund the acquisition through internal cash flows and plans to close the transaction subject to Saudi Arabia’s terms of contract and regulatory approval.

The group operates in the dairy, poultry, bakery, infant nutrition and juice sectors.

In 2024, Almarai generated revenues of SR20.98BN, up from SR195.8 billion in 2023. Operating profit was less than SR300 million compared to SR2.69BN in the previous year. Net income was SR23.1 billion compared to SR2.05 the previous year.
