Famous evangelist Jimmy Swaggart needs “miracles” after cardiac arrest

During Sunday service, Rev. Donnie Swaggart, Swaggart’s son, asked the congregation to keep his father in prayer, saying that only “miracles” could be done. Extend your father’s life.

“On this Father’s Day, we urgently ask you to pray for your brother Swaggart. He needs miracles from heaven this morning. We must intervene with the Lord in this situation. We need your prayers,” Donnie Swaggart wrote in a post on his father’s Facebook page.

“He is my rock, my hero and I need the healing powers of the Lord today. If I can escape, I will try to be a service to give everyone an update,” Donnie Swaggart wrote in a separate post.

Rev. Jimmy Swaggart preached The Gospel of Jesus Christ On television, longer in history than any other American evangelist, according to his ministry’s website.

Born in Ferriday, Louisiana on March 15, 1935, Swaggart confronted the full-time ministry in 1955. He is the pastor of the Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and is the founder of the Jimmy Swaggart Ministry.

At its peak in the mid-1980s, Swaggart was the country’s top rated television preacher. His service was broadcast to more than 2 million households.

However, his image was hurt after being linked to a 1987 scandal involving a prostitute he met at a shady New Orleans motel.

Swaggart never confessed anything more than an unspecified sin during his televised apologies, in which he conveyed “a speech I sinful” in tears.

A few years later, he was stopped by police while driving in California, where he was suspected of being a prostitute in his car.

Swaggart also made headlines during a TV service that he would kill a gay man who saw him romantically. Swaggart said he made a joking comment and didn’t mean any harm.

Fox News Digital contacted a representative for Swaggart for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
