Visa screenings should include social media reviews to protect national security

Do you absolutely let anyone in your home without any conditions? Of course it’s not. Even if invited guests get violent, throw away the kitchen, take over the toilet, slander a religion, or invite friends to set up tents on the lawn.
Similarly, we should not be forced to acknowledge those who hate the country and its values. A visa is a privilege and not a right.
Furthermore, foreigners visiting, studying or working here have fewer rights and “due processes” than citizens, and are limited in nature rights. The rights and responsibilities of US citizenship should be kept to a much higher standard, not watered down, and “given” by fewer people Immigrants In-game status or skin.
I was the US Foreign Secretary from 1999 to 2022, and my first tour was at the Embassy in New Delhi, India. Today, everyone is online, especially young people. All student applicants have smartphones and possibly multiple social media accounts. What we post online reflects who we are. Anonymous is an illusion. You shouldn’t post anything embarrassing or something you want to hide.
As consulate officers tell you, some people are lying to visa interviews. We have what they want: a visa to enter the United States. They may not lie to their mothers or priests, but lying to foreign officials is a much less sin.
Chinese citizens invade US universities
Given that reality and the wealth of information available online that truly reflects people, it is ideal for consul officers to have already reviewed social media for all applicants. So far, the constraints on accessing human humans and examining each applicant’s many accounts and perhaps thousands of posts has made it prohibitive unless it is deemed worthy of an increase in scrutiny. The US Embassy consul unit has a fraud prevention unit, but there are no staff members to handle all cases. Nor can all cases be raised for scrutiny by other US agencies.
Improved AI capabilities allow for social media screening and wider screening, allowing for more applicants.
Students are in our country much longer than people visiting Disneyland or attending business meetings, so it makes sense to start with students. Most students will now earn at least four years of bachelor’s degree, many will get jobs and become legal residents, and perhaps continue to become citizens later on.
If done correctly, Social Media Review The visa process will not slow down. We will shut out most applicants who plan to come here for a specific, effective purpose, and will not stick to what they say.

But people who post burning, crime, violence, anti-Americans; Anti-Semitism, Or, anti-capitalist content will not make visitors, students, or future Americans a good visitor. When I see some of the posts by people about student visas, or when I’m about to become American, I hope some of them have never received a visa.
Like Momodou Taal, who protested most of his time at Cornell University, occupying the building without permission and becoming “hard for Gaza.” At the 2024 protest, he said, “We have not taken our clues from Cornell’s Burche*t student meeting…We take our clues from Palestinian armed resistance.” Cornell refuses to stop him because he doesn’t want him to be deported.

Given that our universities are willing to defend those who hate the West, capitalism, and our allies, it is up to those who issue visas to defend the national interest. It is very likely that Tar’s social media reviews before they issued his visa revealed the inexplicability and saved him from having to find a job for another “Africana Studies” Ph.D.
The State Department is currently scrutinizing all visa holders related to Harvard.
Then there are Kishan Kumar Singh, Mahammadilham Vahora, Hajiali Vahora and Vedantkumar Bhupenbhai Patel. All of these were ostensibly on visas when they studied superficially when they were arrested in separate lawsuits nationwide to allegedly attempting to scam older Americans with money. What did their social media show?

I’m watching Chinese Students In particular, we may stop future Shenghua Wen, a Chinese student who continues his 2012 student visa, drops out of school and has apparently shipped to the sales department to North Korea. It is happening with an astonishing frequency that Chinese students are smuggled into suspicious items, engaged in research that could benefit the PRC and undermine the US.
The US already has over 1 million foreign students here, and issues almost half a million visas each year. Excluding the few who intend to riot, protest, or conduct evil research rather than earning a degree would encourage the rest to respect our country and our rules.
