Ford will provide $7 million tap dealerships to support national nonprofits

As part of the Ford Charity’s Building to the Initiative, kicked off in June, auto companies are leveraging organization-wide resources from cars, employees and dealers to help these organizations make a concrete impact. Ford Charity is Ford’s global charity.

“We were actually working with several organizations on disaster relief and community resilience, so whenever there’s a crisis, we’ll show up and support them,” Curry said. “But we have this incredible company with employees who want to volunteer, and this incredible company with dealers all over the country, so we’ve begun to realize that we’re not just charity dollars, we’re not just charity dollars, there are vehicles that are relevant in some cases.

The company said it has increased its volunteer payment time off policy from 16 hours to 56 hours so that employees can volunteer with four specific partners. Ford has also expanded its pool of rental vehicles that its nonprofit partners can tap if needed for disaster response and more.

Culler said dealers will “start to find unique ways to support these organizations throughout the next few months and the year.” Meanwhile, the company is aiming to expand its launch globally later this year.
