Rahm Emmanuel confirms he is considering his next run in his most public comments up until around 2028 Democratic presidential nomination.

“I’m looking at the (democratic) field, and most importantly what I have to contribute,” the former Chicago mayor, former White House president Barack Obama’s chief of staff and former Illinois lawmaker in an interview with Crane’s Chicago Business this week.

“I was there.” Emmanuel added Thursday’s interview on CNN. “There’s something I think I can offer, but I haven’t made that decision.”

“If I said I wasn’t, that wouldn’t be true. If I said I had decided, that wouldn’t be true either,” said Emmanuel, who served as U.S. ambassador for the past four years during the administration of former President Joe Biden.

Emmanuel, who worked as a policy adviser for the then Bill Clinton administration in the 1990s, led the capture of the Democratic House majority in the 2006 election, has been seen for months as a potential candidate to become the wide and crowded 2028 Democratic presidential nominee.

And since returning from Japan at the end of the Biden administration, Emmanuel has provided fierce reviews. DemocratsAfter an astonishing set-off last November, the party lost control of the White House and Senate, unable to regain the majority of the home from the GOP.

In an interview with Crane, Emmanuel urged Democrats to go back to the kitchen table issue.

But moderate Emmanuel has long been gaining the wrath of the party’s progressive wing. He was heavily criticized by many for his handling of Lacan McDonald’s police murder, which attracted the attention of the public, over a decade ago as mayor of Chicago.
