Buy Benavidez-Morrell and set the stage for Beterbiev Clash 150k-160k

David Benavidez’s former WBA “regular” light heavyweight champion David Morell brings 150,000 to 160,000 PPV purchases on PBC Prime Video At T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

@Danrafael1 reports the PPV number for the Battle of Benavidez-Morrell. This is a steep price compared to how low the Riyadh season event is selling. Benavides was marked by a heavy punch from Morel and was fortunate that he had not suffered significant reductions during his exercise.

It is unclear whether the success of the event was the only “Mexican monster” Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) or whether it was due to a combination of Cuban Morel and several undercard battles.

Benavides defeated Morel (11-1, 9 KOs) with a 12th round unanimous decision with scores 118-108, 115-111 and 115-111. It was actually a close fight, but Benavides’s body punch and his pressure was different.

If Benavidez can defeat the winner of the battle on February 22nd, the uncontroversial battle between the Light Heavyweight Champion Artur Beterbiev and the Dmitry Bivol, his popularity will pass through the roof. He continues to put pressure on Canelo Alvarez and doesn’t have to sound obsessed with him.

It is possible that Betterviev will be what Benavides faces with the four belts, and that will be interesting to see how he is dealing with his powers. He cannot enjoy the same success internally against Beterbiev, just as he did against Morel, as he fights often close by.

It remains to be seen how quickly Benavides will have the opportunity to fight for the belt. If Beterbiev-Bivol chooses to fight the trilogy, he may need to undergo adjustments.

Undercard

Brandon Figueroa vs. Stephen Fulton Jr.
Isaac ‘Pitbull’ Cruz Vs. Angel Fiero
Jesus Ramores Jr. vs Jeison Rosario
Carmel Moton Vs. Frank Zardiber
