Note that the beta version is not the final version of iOS 18.6, so many features can land on your iPhone upon release. It is unclear when Apple will generally release iOS 18.6. However, before iOS 26 becomes available this fall, it could be the last important iOS update to update your company’s release.

This beta is about security patches and bugs crushing
If you’re a developer or beta tester, don’t expect much from this beta, other than bugs and security fixes. After downloading and considering iOS 18.6 Beta 1, no new features or notable changes were found. And considering Apple’s iOS release schedule over the years, that’s not surprising.
Apple announced and released iOS 18 at WWDC 2024 iOS 17.6 More than a month after July. That update was filled with more 30 important bug fixes and security patchesHowever, there are no new features. Apple recommended that everyone download the update at that point, and that was the last major iOS17 update before the release of iOS 18.
Apple did the same when it was released in July 2023 iOS 16.6. When the Tech giant released its update, it focused on bug fixes and security patches. The next iOS releases are: iOS 17.
Apple may be shifting gears and focusing more iOS 26. In fact, the company has already been released Two Developer Beta Editions That iOS software is ready for the fall release.
There will be more beta versions before iOS 18.6 is released to the public, so there’s plenty of time for Apple to add features or change other things, but it won’t rely on new features. Apple has not announced when it will release iOS 18.6, but since both iOS 17.6 and iOS 16.6 were released in July 2024 and July 2023, Apple expects to release iOS 18.6 next month.
