TCS bolster SDV development using new European hubs
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced the establishment of three new facilities in Europe to enhance its availability in the software-defined vehicle (SDV) sector.
In addition to its engineering facilities in Romania, the company has established two automotive delivery centres in Germany in Munich and Willingen-Schwenningen.
The IT major in India said these new facilities are a strategic initiative to support international automotive clients in advancing next-generation mobility solutions.
German distribution centres help automakers create and implement TCS software-centric services to address areas such as autonomous driving, infotainment, safety systems, and connected vehicle technology.
At the same time, Romanian engineering centres will focus on developing advanced automotive software platforms to promote innovation and early stage development.
TCS added that the initiative forms part of its broad commitment to expanding automotive software capabilities across Chip-to-Cloud technology and related services.
Currently, the Centre employs more than 100 professionals working with over 2,000 SDV engineers based in TCS global locations.
This workforce will focus on creating advanced automotive platforms for digital cockpits, infotainment, advanced driver assistance systems, and other important SDV features.
The company will help cover the overall product lifecycle from ideas and development to production and ongoing support, the company added.

The expansion of TCS coincides with the global automotive industry’s shift towards software-driven, connected, and autonomous mobility solutions.
