Iran fights back against US bases in Qatar, Iran’s state television report

Iran said On Monday, it launched a retaliatory attack on Aldeid, a US Air Force base in Qatar.

An explosion was heard in Doha, a source told Fox News. Iranian state media reported that “the blessings of Operation Fatah’s operation against U.S. Aldeid base in Qatar have begun.”

Shortly before the attack, Iranian President Mahmoud Pezeshkian issued a warning promising that Saturday’s strike on nuclear facilities would not be “unanswered.”

“We also did not want to start a war, but please do not leave the attack on #Greateriran unanswered. We will stand up to safety with all this #BelovedNation presence and respond to all the wounds in the Iranian body with faith, wisdom and determination,” he wrote about X.

The base has 10,000 American troops, making it the largest military facility in the United States in the Middle East. Located southwest of Doha, it serves as a hub for US mission logistics operations to combat Iraq and Syria ISIS. It also hosts the air force and special operations in the front floor of Central Command (Centcom) and in the area. It is also used as the headquarters for British involvement in airstrikes against Iraqi ISIS.

But Trump warned Iran following Saturday’s strike against the nuclear hub:

The Air Force Base also hosts military assets such as the B-52 strategic bomber, C-17 Globemaster Transport and RC-135 Rivet Joint Reconnaissance aircraft, in addition to the air transport, aviation failures, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance capabilities of the 379th air-control wing.
