Why William Zepeda’s halt mindset rattles undefeated Shakur Stephenson before the Queens game
Shakur Stephenson worked well after reading William Zepeda’s comments about how he focused on knocking him out on July 12th at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The event will be broadcast dazn ppv.
Stevenson (23-0, 11 Kos) has been weakly matched by promoters over the past two years from his terrifying performance with Edwin de los Santos in 2023, and he is not used to enemies coming to fight with the idea of wanting to knock him out. Shakur has yet to realize that he isn’t as good as he thinks.
Turki Event: Zepeda’s Big Shot
Shakur is matched with two weak punchers, Josh Padry and Artem Hartignan, so it’s shocking that he’s fighting real knockout artist Zepeda with the intention of stopping him next month.
What makes Zepeda (33-0, 27 Kos) fight even harder is that it is an event for Turki Alalhikh. Zepeda knows that if he wins, he can make a lot of money with Torki’s future fight cards.
“‘My way of thinking is stopping. Maybe it’s in the 10th round, or maybe it’s a little earlier or later. But I know, I have to get the stop.” xread what William Zepeda said about their fight plan on July 12th next month.
Zepeda is right to predict a knockout in this fight. Because he knows that if it keeps distance, there is little chance that he will win the decision. Shakur is the A-side of this fight, backed by matchroom promoters Eddie Khan and Turki Ararasik, and has their big plans. The Mexican brawler Zepeda is used as a stepping stone to help Shakur and Hahn get a fight with Gervonta Davis.
Shakur’s ego challenged by Zepeda
“It’s the Bulls***. If I didn’t stop my last opponent (Tevin Farmer), I’d gone there, and f*** will make you think you’ll stop me?” Shakur said. “That sounds stupid. You’re just talking. He knows he’s just talking. He was with me before. He knows,” Shakur said.
Stevenson is definitely a step back for Zepeda from his final opponent, Tevin Farmer. The former IBF super featherweight champion Farmer punches harder and harder with his ability to stay in his pocket during long stretches in two fights with Zepeda.
The reason Zepeda couldn’t knock out the farmer is because he entered a defensive shell after he approached a halt in a rematch. Farmer rode the bike after the sixth time and made lots of movement and grip to disable Zepeda’s volume punch. The flaw of the farmer is that he gave up the chance to win.
