Bill Haney’s call from Brian Norman Jr. raises doubts about Devin’s future
Bill Haney posted on social media that he was “looking for” WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman Jr. or his father. Fans are skeptical that Bill might be interested in lining up the fight for his son Devin after facing Jose Ramirez on New York City’s Times Square Card last month.
Sink or swim match?
Can Bill be desperate enough to throw Devin (32-0, 15 Kos) along with Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 Kos) in sink and swimming type fights? It’s one way to disprove Haney, 26, who believes he’s still defeated by Ryan Garcia in 2024. If Haney wants to prove he’s not mentally shattered by shell shock, then a fight with Norman Jr. will show he wants to return to the front line.
This is not a regis program where Devin is fighting if he challenges Brian Norman Jr. for his WBO belt. Bill couldn’t expect Norman Jr. to be old and washed. He is 24 years old and two years younger than Devin.
The way Devin fought Ramirez was that he had Tim Bradley suspected he had PTSD and didn’t beat Ryan at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Norman Junior Knockout Warning
Challenger Junsaki’s fifth round knockout of Norman JR’s June 19th should have been enough to scare Bill Haney forever. He cooled Sasaki down with a left hook and had to be removed from the stretcher’s ring.
Lopez’s battle has fallen apart
Bill wanted to match Teofimo Lopez and Devin, who would have been a big-name fight on one of Turki Alalshikh’s cards. However, Lopez didn’t like the appearance and was worried that he would be taken away. So, rather than taking the opportunity to lose a controversial decision, he retreated.
Haney is in a tough place. Because there’s no popular fighter jet to fight him right now. He cannot afford to wait for Ryan to return from his defeat.
No one needs to look for it. I’ll stop by Yal too https://t.co/fpg8menda3
