The incident occurred on June 17th at around 7:17pm in West Baltimore, near the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Lawrence Avenue. According to the Baltimore Police Department (BPD).
The incident led to Abdullah’s death, where one officer was shot in the leg during a conflict.

Officials patrol the area observed a man who believed he was armed, according to authorities. The initial engagement began with an unmarked cruiser, and officers tried to talk to Abdullah, the department said.
Abdullah began to leave the vehicle and approached on foot. As the police continued, Abdullah moved his crossbody bag into front of his body and ran away.
A second officer left the cruiser to assist, and a third party stationed in a marked patrol vehicle nearby responded. When officers are closed In Abdullah, he was said to have pointed at a handgun and fired, hitting the officer in his foot.
“Turn the fire and turn the fire,” you can hear officers screaming on footage.
In response, three police officers returned the fire and hit Abdullah.

Both the wounded officer and Abdullah University of Maryland Shock trauma center.
At 11:14pm, Abdullah was declared dead. The injured officer, an eight-year veteran of the department, underwent surgery and was listed in fair condition the following afternoon.
The gun was retrieved and secured by police.

Body camera footage captured a crowd of crowds after filming. Authorities noted that the crowd had slowed their capabilities. Provides immediate assistance.
Once the scene stabilized, officers provided emergency medical assistance until paramedics arrived.
The shooting is currently under joint investigation by the Baltimore Police Department’s Special Investigation Response Team (SIRT), the Homicide Division and the Maryland Attorney General.
