Former MSNBC host Joy Reid speculated on the president’s report on Tuesday Donald Trump And the ongoing war in Gaza was an unknown factor that led to the sudden expulsion from the liberal network.
When appearing on “The Breakfast Club,” Reid was asked what was behind the shooting from MSNBC in February. 2024 election.
“And we actually held a ratings meeting two weeks before I was fired, like we were saying, ‘You guys are actually losing – you guys lose less than your competitors, and you’re actually doing well,” Reed said. “So the rating was fine. We were fine. And you know, the rating hasn’t improved since I left.”

Reed then pointed to reports of her being in the chopping block that surfaced Friday before she was fired.
“I hadn’t heard anything,” Reed said. “No one called me. They didn’t say, ‘You did something wrong, you’re in trouble, you’re on probation.’ The next morning, “Can I talk at noon?” And I was fired immediately. “Oh, we want to make some changes.” They never said why.

The original “Reidout” host went on to claim that there are “two topics” that “has made MSNBC management “displeased.”
“Trump is suing everyone, so one of them is Trump,” Reed said. “I mean, he’s literally threatening people to the point where the ’60 minutes’ shaking. ABC News is shaking. You know, he verbally threatened comcast by name (Comcast CEO) Brian Roberts is blackmailed by name, and these are all businesses that want to do business that requires FCC approval. They actually have to get federal approval to do the merger, acquisition… he can draw your license…it seems everyone is trying to navigate this really crazy guy. So I think they are energized by the feeling that “we don’t want to stick out bears too much.” ”
“I think the other works are Gaza,” she continued. “And talking about Gaza in a way that humanizes Palestinians is not the usual way that cable news operates, or the fact that news in this country works for some reason. That topic makes people uncomfortable.”

Reid said he remained rebellious following her expulsion and would not apologise at the time for being “hard” on issues such as Black Life Matter, illegal immigration, the 1619 project, Gaza and opposition to Trump.
“Because those things belong to God. “And you know, I am also a girl in the church, and those things I was taught were God’s. So I’m sorry. I’m proud of my show.”
