Rep. Houchin touts the benefits of Trump’s “tax-free on tips” policy in new video

Houchin spoke with small business owners Ron and Mary Kay Mattingly, as well as Server and Peggy Weir at Chicken House in Sellersburg, Indiana. “Tax-free on tips” policy.

“When traveling to meet small business owners and workers from Indiana to Maine, what I hear most is that after four years of failing Biden policy, job creators need one big beautiful bill.”
The House passed Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” by one vote last month, and there is debate among Senate Republicans to pass his version by the voluntary July 4th deadline.
Trump is trying to fulfill his major campaign promises through one big beautiful bill law. This includes extending tax exemptions on tip wages and overtime salaries, tax cuts in 2017 and tax cuts in Employment Act and Social Security benefits.

Without taxes on tips from tax cuts, Loeffler told Fox News Digital, “The law unleashes a new era of employment, growth and prosperity for everyday small business owners.”
“It feels like someone is finally hearing us and making it happen by taking into account what’s important to us,” Weir told Huchin in the chicken coop.
Weir said that it can be disappointing when she doesn’t bring home what she actually makes every day.
“He’s fighting for working men and women. That’s exactly why he took office,” Weir added, explaining to houchin that Trump is committed to providing a real solution for the middle class.
Trump’s “no tax on tips” policy is included in his one big beautiful bill law. He passed the bill independently Last month we established a new tax credit of up to $25,000 for tips.

However, there are some differences between the Senate standalone bill and the House megaville edition. That is, one big beautiful bill law does not include the upper limit of tax credits.
The Senate bill “expands business tax credits for some of the payroll taxes employers pay for certain tips to include payroll taxes paid in tips received in connection with certain beauty services.”
The new tax credits in the Senate law guide are limited to tips on cash received at work and are reported on payroll taxes.
It also “expands some business tax credits for payroll taxes that employers pay for certain tips to include payroll taxes paid in tips received in connection with barbershops and hair care, nail care, aesthetics, and spa treatments.”
The House bill states that tax credits will be available from 2025 to 2028, excluding high-income earners and certain service professionals.
According to Houseway and the Means Committeethe bill will also expand the federal insurance contribution law tip tax credits to beauty service businesses such as salons and spas, allowing employers to claim Social Security tax credits paid for tips.
“I think President Trump has a real sense of middle class and I think he truly feels that it helps,” the owner of the chicken coop told Huchin.
