Emery is ready to face “the best team in Europe”

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery said his side is ready to face “the Premier League and the best team in Europe” when leader Liverpool came to Villa Park on Wednesday night. I say it must be.

Villa fell six points late into the top four after drawing at Ipswich over the weekend, with Emery saying his return to the Champions League remains his goal.

New signatures Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio can both feature, and Emery struggles with problems with defense injuries.

He states: This is the most difficult match we will play in the last few weeks and months.

“Liverpool is the best team in the Premier League and Europe. Our challenge is how we face them and respond to our qualities and play at this level.

“We are excited and hope to share the exciting moments with the fans of Villa Park.”

Villa won only one of the last 14 Premier League matches against Liverpool despite a 7-2 victory at Villa Park in October 2020.

Anyway, repeat – or 3 points – bring the villa back into the mix for European locations in races that are likely to go to the wire again.

“We’re positive, but we’re excited and we’re moving in the right direction,” Emery said.

“We need more points in case we want to achieve the maximum demand and goals that are to participate in the Champions League.”

Team News

Midfielder/defender Boubakar Kamara left early with Ipswich, and Villa was able to include forward Leon Bailey and defenders Ezri Konsa and Matty Cash on the team.

Kamala’s Emery“He was ready to play with the back problem, but the injury did not come from his back, it’s his hamstring. He met with doctors and physics, We are trying to see how we can get better. To be precise, it’s difficult.”

About Tyrone Mings’ Return from Injury: “Mings is a very important player, his comeback is very good and he’s working very well. He’s stopped a bit in recovery, but he plays on Saturday and tomorrow he’s got a good chance. It needs to be available. He is one of the captains and is a defence leader, so he is a very important player.”
