Theofimo Lopez dismisses Brian Norman Jr.’s victory: “Who?” – Why Lopez avoids Norman Jr.

Teofimo Lopez downed WBO welterweight champion Brian Norman JR’s recent fifth knockout victory, which won Jin Sasasi on June 19th. Lopez pointed out that Norman Jr. (28-0, 22 Kos) beat an unknown fighter, saying there’s a reason he didn’t mention his name.

It is believed that Norman Jr. will jump at the chance to fight Theofimo Lopez, but there was no interest in each other. Teofimo has been too focused on fighting people like Arnold Barboza Jr., Steve Claggett and Jamaine Ortiz in 140. These were safe fights for him. Faced with Norman Jr. would be a potential disaster for Lopez.

“Yeah, but to who?” he told Teofimo Lopez. fighthype When Brian Norman Jr. said he was glad that he had a knockout victory over Jin Sasaki on June 19th this month. “Everyone can see well until you take it to the next level. So, that’s why they’ve talked about other fighters rather than Teofimo. I wonder why.”

Is Norman Jr. too dangerous?

Norman Jr. has too much power and toughness for him, so that’s a bad fight for Theofimo. We have already seen Theo’s levels in our struggles with Jamain Ortiz, Sandor Martin, Steve Claguette and George Cambossos. Lopez is insufficient for pressure fighters. What he does well is pure boxers like Arnold Barboza Jr. and Josh Taylor.

“I might go to 147 or keep the belt at 140. At 140, I feel like it’s no longer controversial. No one beat (Josh) Taylor. He was undefeated. He didn’t abandon the belt, but he still didn’t lose the straight.

If Teofimo travels to 147, he won’t challenge Brian Norman Jr. for the WBO welterweight belt. If anything, Theo will fight against the winners of the battle between Ryan Garcia and Manny Pacquiao vs Mario Barrios.

The only way Teofimo can move to 147 is if he is offered a big sum of money to fight someone who is confident in be-hitting. After the way he got out of negotiations for a fight with Devin Haney, he showed that it was difficult for him to deal with.

There’s no big fight at 140

Unless Turki Alalshikh wants to fund the battle between Teofimo and Richardson Hitchins, there will be no big-money battle in 140. It’s unlikely that Theofimo would agree to fight WBA champion Gary Antoanne Russell. He’s all wrong for him.
