Trump’s “obbb” faces important home votes as deficits and hawks threaten passage

House Speaker Mike Johnson hopes he brings in the president. Donald Trump“One Big Beautiful Bill” for voting on Wednesday afternoon or evening.
He succeeds, “obbb” passes by, President’s deskand this column was then overtaken by the event. The passing of the OBBB is a great event as it means liberation from the American economy.
But if four or more Republicans bolted the caucus, turned on the president and their party, stopped a big breakthrough for the defense of the economy, borders, energy sectors, especially the nation, voted “no”, then broke the glass and pulled the lever.
Democratic doctors’ protests against Trump’s “beautiful bill” have been derailed by our floods
The OBBB is not a bill that will allow them to survive the meeting and withstand a second execution of the legislative course. A narrow choke point was sailed to reach this decision point. With attention to the wind, this delicately balanced compromised mountain of “conference committees” is actually abandoning the unique opportunity for the GOP to deliver the central promises the party and President Trump made in the 2024 campaign.
It’s not a complete bill in my eyes or in the eyes of other observers and most members of Congress. But it is a very good bill, and good should not be the perfect enemy.
The OBB’s most vocal critic is the self-explained “dead Hawks” (and the strange Kentucky Rep. Massie, who believes his work will be interviewed on television).
The bill’s impact on deficits cannot be reduced without starting over. Also, “doing over” means that delivery fails.
Again, the edge of the house Senate GOP majority It’s too narrow to expect a different outcome. Shooting down “OBBB” now means shooting down it. Members who vote for “No” will be responsible for the biggest tax rise in history and for the continued decline in US military preparations, underfunded border patrols and unfinished walls.
Republicans who vote “no” may be from “safe districts,” but it is clear that GOP is large and President Trump specifically recruiting and funding key challengers for them is encouraging voters to send epic occlusionists and leftists home to replace epic standard if they are not successful.
But there is one thing the president and speakers can tolerate for members of the family who want to cut their spending more. This is an opportunity to write and manage a second settlement bill.
Earlier this year there was a stir of debate. Two settlement bills – The first settlement bill for layups on border and defense spending, and the second bill for tax cuts from very important passes and qualification reform aimed at reducing waste, fraud and abuse from these programs.
Deal maker President Trump has pushed the “OBBB” theory that GOPs will not take risks to raise taxes that kill the economy, which is expected to arrive on January 1, 2026, unless the “OBB” is stopped first. Trump bets on momentum and so far he has won that bet.
There are “true followers” in the house who want to cut their spending deeper. If they blow OBBB this week, they will say they will rely on their home and Senate GOP to reassemble their work, but with more cuts. Of course, that doesn’t happen. It’s not even a mirage. That’s a counterargument. That won’t happen. Look at the Senate vote: 50-50. There is all the weight that the bill can withstand. Pass it or welcome the massive tax hikes in 2026!
The bill’s existing spending cuts put its Senate passage at risk. Slice deeper and the deal is dead. The House Dead Ender might want to believe that something else could happen, but the end result means that killing “obbb” now means killing it forever. Republicans who voted against “OBBB” have voted to crash the economy between now and November 2026, and therefore, due to the House Democrat majority and all financial irresponsibility that telegraphs the market. That’s blood in the market, but of course.
The “no” vote for “obbb” is a “yes” vote by Jeffrey speaker, and his arrival will be a Herald with a huge tax hike.
Red Hawks Object They were promised more, and perhaps so. However, all the senators were also voted, reaching the limits of their desire to reduce the Senate’s mass deficit. This is the best thing you can do in this round of settlement.
It is the control of the second round of settlement, the second round that the Congress has the right to take up that the President and speaker can provide holdout.
Representatives Chip Roy, Andy Harris and Ralph Norman were responsible for drafting the bill and managing the home floor. No guarantee of passing can be given. While moderates may have to be persuaded in the home GOP, the president and speakers can provide strong support for this effort. The deficit Hawks may come up with a thread that allows them to pass through the smallest of the eyes of many needles: a real qualification reform.
If you have the required members social security If you go bankrupt, or pay Medicare and interest to devour your entire discretionary spending budget, you will be indifferent to entitlement reforms. However, responsible members of both Houses of Congress must recognize that Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell is right when he declared on Tuesday that “the level of debt is sustainable, but the road is not.”
“We need to deal with that sooner or later,” Powell continued. “The earlier one will be slower.”
“Faster” means now, and if the Finance Hawk is allowed to create a Qualification Reform Bill for the Second Settlement Bill, then Arsenal will use its biggest weapon against citizen debt. With a well-crafted bill, they even managed to pull it apart.
Do you remember the “BRAC” committee? On five different occasions since 1988, Congress has done a very sensitive job of holding public hearings and designating US military facilities to close to an independent committee that created a list of bases to be closed. All Locals
Lawmakers knew their cattle could be gored, but they also knew the country needed to size and scale the military facilities in the country. So Congress established and empowered BRACS, and BRACS did their job. Congress was eventually presented with a list, and by design, Congress could vote for “yes” or “no” across the list. By forcing all councils to deal with all closures, the pain was shared and the BRACS recommendations were always accepted. Five BRAC rounds since 1988 have closed more than 350 military facilities, freeing up resources for significant cost savings and other priorities.
Such an approach for the Qualification Reform Committee and procedures for review of the committee’s recommendations are necessary.

We propose the easiest reform and pass. We will add one month to the retirement age eligibility table each year for the next 60 years. It means an increase in age of eligibility for example 65-66 years over a year, which helps to fit Social Security into an actuarial table that reflects our collective life span. We introduce reforms that move slowly only among people under the age of 55, and the final result is that all Americans under the age of 55 will not receive Social Security checks until age 66.
We will include such proposals in other careful and gradual reform packages against our qualification tangles and arrange for the entire package to receive the top and bottom votes at the December 2026 Legislative Legislature.
The deficit Hawks can request the right to actually correct the deficit. And they should get it.
But is that what they want, or do they want to be here today and face time with a viral video that disappeared before sunset?

This is a very serious moment in the life of the country. make Tax structure permanent That compensation investment and risk are the most important things this Congress can do to ensure a vibrant and growing economy. Stockpiling defenses and speeding up vessels and supplying submarine construction is essential to our safety. The permanent adoption of that tax law and blocking urgently needed investments in defense and border security is reckless beyond measurement.
But if a grandstander who is shortsighted enough to block the OBB gets up, they make an offer that they cannot refuse: more than a speech.
