Loved at Anfield
Liverpool signed Jota from Wolves in 2020, and he quickly became a key member of the team, helping Mersey Cider win the FA Cup title in 2022.
After Jurgen Klopp’s departure and Arne Slot as manager arrived, Liverpool won the Premier League title last season, with Jota contributing nine goals in 37 appearances.
Jota started at Pacos de Ferreira, where his form earned him a move to Atletico Madrid. He struggled to make an impression in the Spanish capital, and was loaned back to his hometown of Porto, where he was loaned out to the wolves in 2017.
His move to Molineux became permanent in January 2018. Midway through the season, he pushed the Wolves to advance to the Premier League with 17 league goals.
At the international level, Jota scored 14 goals in 49 appearances, helping them to the 2019 and last month’s International League titles. Jota came out of the bench as an extrater as Portugal defeated Spain in the finals with a penalty.
