Delta flights land safely after Boeing Wing flaps fall into a driveway in North Carolina

The incident happened early Wednesday morning, the airline confirmed with Fox News Digital. The Boeing 737-900ER was traveling from Atlanta to Raleigh Durham, with six crew members and 109 passengers on board.

“After the aircraft landed safely, it was observed that some of the trailing edge flaps on the left wing were not in place. Delta fully supports the search effort and nothing is more important than safety, so we will cooperate with the investigation,” a Delta spokesman said.

The part was separated from the Boeing aircraft operating as Flight 3247 before landing at 1:15am local time on July 2nd.

Delta said the flight had both departures and environmental delays due to thunderstorm activity. Atlanta was 10 minutes late at 11:06pm on Tuesday.

Raleigh police told local television station WRAL that no injuries or property damage was reported as a result of the incident.

“It’s amazing to think that it’s such a dense neighborhood and that people are always out,” says Susan Reid, who works near where parts crashed. He said to the Urals. “We really dodged a bullet at this and hope it never happens again.”
