July 4th Weekend Trip: A 61.6m American hits the road, AAA says
Fox News Senior Correspondent Jonathan Sery reports on what Americans could be causing them to break their July 4 travel records with “Varney & Co.”
There are a record number of Americans Hit the road On Independence Day holiday.
The AAA predicted that 72.2 million people travelled at least 50 miles from their homes during their holidays. This ranges from June 28th to July 6th. This year’s figures are 1.7 million more than last year, and 7 million more than 2019.
The majority of them (approximately 61.6 million) plan to travel by car, with a 2.2% or 1.3 million travelers compared to 2024, showing “highest volume on record.”

According to the AAA, gas prices will increase in gas pumps given increased demand, but summer gas prices are the lowest since 2021.
