Leaked Sparring Video: Abdullah Mason Dominates Floyd Schofield in Edited YouTube Clips – Analysis
Abdullah Mason vs. Floyd Scofield Sparring Video was leaked today on YouTube, showing that “Kid Austin” is dominated by top-ranked, promoted Masons. Most of the video shows Mason, the lightweight competitor of Southpaws.
Scofield missed much, hugged and threw a shot before he was out of balance. He looked uncomfortable and sometimes suffered from pressure from the 5’9′ Mason. Towards the end of the spur, Scofield landed a large right-hand shot on Abdullah’s head and body.
Leaked sparring video analysis
The leaked sparring clip rebuts what Floyd Schofield Sr. said about his son having to go to Mason easily. What I saw from the edited video was that Mason dominated the entire 3.27-minute clip. What we don’t know is who edited the clip and what was deleted.
It is very likely that anyone who edited the book had an agenda to make Abdullah look good. So the parts of him that he was visible remained intact, and the areas that Schofield ruled were edited. Using edited video, I don’t know.
Sparring Clip Age and Context
I don’t know how long ago the sparring took place. Schofield looked much bigger than the video in his final battle with Tevin Farmer on June 28th. In that battle he appeared 15-20 pounds heavier More than he did in sparring.
This suggests that this clip is at least 1-2 years old. That may not sound much to older fighters, but it makes a huge difference for someone who is still developing into someone in their early 20s.
In addition to the age and selective editing of the video, the size of the gloves and headgear remove all meanings to measure who will win the battle between them. They look like the 16 oz gloves that both fighters wear, removing much of the impact of the shot.
