Here’s what you’ll expect from Textron’s next revenue report

Based in Rhode Island, Providence (TXT) operates in aircraft, defense, industrial and financial businesses around the world. It has a market capitalization of $14.8 billion, and the company operates in six segments: Textron Airlines, Bell, Textron Systems, Industry, Textron Impact and Finance.

The company is scheduled to release its second quarter results on Thursday, July 24th before the market opens. Ahead of the event, analysts expect TXT to report non-GAAP earnings of $1.44 per share. TXT shares rose 2.6% after first quarter earnings were announced on April 24th. Our revenues rose 5.5% year-on-year to $3.3 billion, surpassing Wall Street estimates driven primarily by robust growth in the Bell Segment. Additionally, the company’s adjusted EPS rose 6.7% year-on-year to $1.28, surpassing the consensus estimate by 9.4%.

The consensus opinion on TXT is somewhat optimistic, with an overall “medium purchase” rating. Of the 14 analysts covering stocks, opinions include six “strong shopping,” seven “holds,” and one “strong selling.” The average price target of $85.50 suggests a potential upside of 4% from the current price level.
