Former Eagles and Texans linebacker Brian Braman is fighting “rare” cancer

Super Bowl Champion and ex NFL Linebacker Brian Braman is “the battle of his life” after being diagnosed with “very rare” cancer.
Braman who helped me Eagles Defeating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII and bringing the Lombardi Trophy to Philadelphia was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, according to the GoFundMe campaign set up on his behalf in February.

The fundraiser, other than describing it as “very rare,” did not mention Braman’s diagnosed cancer form, but said he would need to undergo a “expanding 12-week treatment program” in Washington.

Braman’s agent Sean Stellat said KPRC 2 The 38-year-old former NFL player is “in the battle for his life,” but hopes he will defeat cancer.
“At Stellat Sports, Brian Braman has always defended strength, resilience and leadership,” Stellato said. “He’s a pillar and a loser staple. Now, in the face of cancer, he embodies those qualities more than ever. If anyone knows I can defeat cancer, it’s Brian Braman, who I’ve always considered to be family.

“He is in the battle for his life. Support Brian and keep him in your prayers.”
The latest update on fundraising last month said Braman had received a “Car-T cell reprogramming treatment.” Although initially showed signs of effectiveness, the fundraiser organizers said, “Cancer has grown exponentially faster and is now growing around his vital organs.”

Braman spent most of his seven years with the Eagles. He was signed as an undrafted free agent Houston Texans In 2011 he played for three seasons. He signed with the Eagles in 2014 and rejoined the team just before the 2017 playoffs. He continued to register one tackle in the Super Bowl victory.
Braman’s fundraiser had raised more than $70,000 by Saturday.
