Jamie Dimon criticizes Zoran Mamdani as a “Marxist” and blows up the Democrat’s Day Push: “Big Hearts and the Little Brain”


JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon New York City mayoral candidate Zoran Mamdani has criticized Democrats who say they spend too much time on diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives, as “a more Marxist than socialists.”

Dimon urged New York State representatives not to support Mamdani in a campaign that included a rent freeze and a push for city-owned grocery stores last month in the Democratic primary for New York City Mayor.

“He’s more of a Marxist than a socialist, and now you’re watching these Democrats say, ‘Well, he’s pointing out some real issues, affordable housing, groceries prices,'” Dimon said at an event in Ireland on Thursday.

Mamdani, who Dimon claimed, was pushing “the mash of the same ideological ideology that doesn’t mean anything in the real world.”

Dimon is the latest Wall Street billionaire to denounce Mamdani’s campaign, and his appearance was as a top runner who could become New York City’s next mayor.

Amid concerns about the chances of winning the election, a group called “New Yorkers for a Future Mayor 25” has been created and is working to raise $20 million to raise $20 million, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Mamdani is trying to address some of the panic over his candidacy as he plans to attend an event hosted by the New York City Professional Business Group Partnership, a group that has Dimon on the board.

“I have a lot of friends who are Democrats and they’re idiots,” he said.

“I always say they have a big heart and a little brain,” added Dimon. “They don’t understand how the real world works. Almost all of the policies unfolded have failed.”

Dimon previously said that JPMorgan will cut spending on the DEI initiative but has confirmed its commitment to working with Black, Hispanic and the LGBTQ community.

“We were all dedicated to reaching out to the Black community, the Hispanics, the LGBT community, the disabled. But we do it all. But they have to stop it, and they need to go back to being more practical.

JP Morgan was one of several Wall Street Banks that pulled DEI language from its website earlier this year shortly after President Donald Trump took office. Since returning to the White House, Trump has signed an order to eradicate Days across the country.

Although Dimon had previously supported the DEI policy, he ordered a review of the bank’s policies after a 2023 Supreme Court decision that opposed positive actions in university admissions.
