Wyndham boosts its South Asia presence with the New Alliance
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced a strategic alliance with Indian hospitality group Cygnett Hotels & Resorts to expand its footprint in South Asia.
The collaboration will introduce the hotel brands of Wyndham’s Laquinta and Registry Collection to India, adding more than 60 hotels in India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal over the next decade.
The move is driven by infrastructure investment, the growing middle class and increased tourism, and aims to capitalize on India’s growing travel sector.
“We are pleased to announce that we are committed to providing a range of services and services to our customers,” said Dimitris Manikis, President of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts EMEA. “This partnership is the next chapter in Wyndham’s Eurasian growth story, and India is an important strategic market that has grown for decades.
“We introduce sophisticated stays across the full spectrum, from stylish, high-quality hotels to unique, luxurious escapes, bringing Wyndham’s world-class brand to even more popular destinations throughout the region.”
As part of the partnership, Wyndham and Signet have signed an exclusive 10-year development agreement to launch and develop Laquinta with the Wyndham brands of India, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh.
The move includes new builds and conversions where the first opening is expected by the end of next year.
Suitable for both business and leisure guests in the upper midscale segment, the brand has a portfolio of 900 locations worldwide.
At the same time, the two companies will launch a Registry Collection Hotel in India via a non-exclusive 10-year agreement.
These will be co-branded with Cygnett’s newly introduced, luxurious five-star brand Anamore, and early hotels are expected to welcome guests in 2026.
With over 30 locations around the world, Registry Collection Hotels are known for their boutiques and luxury hotels.
“We’re looking forward to seeing you in the world,” said Sarbendra Sarkar, Founder and Managing Director of Cygnett Hotels & Resorts.
