California calls for Trump administration to surpass more than $4 billion in high-speed rail funding cuts

California Governor Gavin Newsom It announced a lawsuit against the Trump administration following the cancellation of more than $4 billion in federal funds for the state’s high-speed rail project.

“Trump has ended on federal grants for California’s high-speed rail politics. Punishing California is yet another political stunt,” the news said in a news release.

“The reality is that this is a heartless attack on the central valley, and it will actually be a job and a living. We are calling for stopping Trump from derailing. The only high speed rail in America It is actively under construction,” the governor continued.

The lawsuit argues that President Donald Trump’s hostility to the nation targeted California, and that the end was driven by “little, political retaliation” rather than objective concern.

The lawsuit characterizes the decision as “little political retaliation,” but Transport Secretary Sean Duffy justified the end of the Federal Railroad Administration’s $4 billion federal funding, citing 2016 failures, fast truck completions and escalating costs.

Duffy declares the project, called “Trains Don’t Go Anywhere”, surpassing the mismanaged “Boondgur.”

“It’s California’s fault. Governor Newsom and his accomplices have made this waste possible for many years. The federal dollar is not a blank check.

The announcement follows months of scrutiny after a comprehensive compliance review, followed by the California High Speed Railroad Agency (CHSRA)’s failed attempt to address serious project flaws.

A 300-page report released in June looked at the project and found delays, deadlines, inadequate management, waste, surges, budget shortages, and overrepresentation of predicted riderships.

Other important findings revealed that project It was likely that contractor costs were delayed, and likely increasing, and CHSRA was unable to secure contracts for the fast train set on time.

Reviews show that a 0-mile high speed truck has been laid since the ground broke 10 years ago, and costs continue to rise.

Trump, who reflected Duffy’s sentiment, also called the project “boondoggle.”

“We are excited to announce that our hardworking, tax-paying and hardworking citizens of the United States have been officially freed from funding California’s miserable high-speed “high-speed trains nowhere.”

“Trained by California’s incompetent governor Gavin Newscum, this Boondoggle has been spending hundreds of billions of dollars from taxpayers and has received nothing in return except for a cost overrun.

“The project was severely high prices, overregulated and never delivered. Thanks to Transport Secretary Sean Duffy, a penny of federal dollars would never go to this newscam scam again.

Newsom pushed back Trump’s criticism and alleged that his administration illegally fired a federal grant agreement funding the high-speed rail.

Newsom says it contrasts with progress in California with other states, with the Golden State project far ahead of the others.

“Trump wants to give China a future and give up Central Valley. We won’t let him. We are miles ahead of everyone else because projects like the Texas High Speed Rail have failed to take off,” Newsom wrote.

“We are currently in the athletics phase and are building the only high-speed rail in America. California has all our options on the table to combat this illegal activity,” he continued.

In addition to cancelling $4 billion in federal funds to CHSRA, Duffy has directed the FRA to consider other mandatory and non-blig grants related to the CHSRA project.
