John Stewart slams CBS to center on Stephen Colbert’s late-night show

“The Daily Show” host Jon Stewart Lambasted CBS on Monday by deciding to “cancel” a late show with Stephen Colbert. Donald Trump.
“Obviously, I certainly aren’t the most purpose of commenting on this issue,” Stewart admitted before rising late into Comedy Central on “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” before singing his praises on CBS.
“To see Stephen exceeds all the expectations of that role and be the last one show on network television was an undeniable joy for me, as an audience and as a friend of his. And now Stephen has been cancelled for “purely financial reasons.”
Comedy Central and CBS are sister networks under Paramount.

Stewart admitted that late-night television is roughly financially struggling, but emphasized, “When your industry faces change, you don’t just call it a day.”
“The fact that CBS didn’t try to preserve the latest network franchise that has been airing for over 30 years is part of the wonder, “Is this purely financial or perhaps the path of minimal resistance to your $8 billion merger?”
“I was killing the show you know, so the fragile and vengeful president is very unsettling and suffers badly from the case of chronic penis shortage,” Stewart said. “I think CBS lost the bounty of doubt when it sold out its flagship news program two weeks ago to pay the president a horror fee.”

Stewart said he understands making decisions with a $8 billion merger, but said, “You’re now going to cancel, censor and control the show, the insignificant part of that $8 billion worth comes from those f–ing shows.”
“That’s what made you that money! It shows that it says something, it shows that it is standing, it shows that you are not afraid of it,” he said. “We try. We try every night, and if you believe, you can make yourself very harmless as a company or as a network.

The Comedy Central host answers why Colbert’s show was cancelled, saying that critics couldn’t find “smoking gun emails and phone calls,” but the answer replies that “in the fear and compliance that at this moment knows all American institutions.”
“This is not a moment of surrender. I’m not giving up. I don’t think I’ll go anywhere,” Stewart said. “For these institutions, businesses, advertisers, universities, law firms, everything. If you think that bending your knees to Trump will save you, I have one thing to say.

Stewart concluded his monologue with the Gospel choir behind him, “If you are afraid and protect your profits, I will just one small phrase: Go F —You yourself!”
CBS shocked the country last week with an announcement that it would end “The Late Show” in May 2026. Liberal critics have denounced CBS and accused them of being politically motivated, but a report from Puck’s Matt Belloni showed Colbert’s show costing $40 million a year and running on a $100 million budget per season.
Stewart himself admitted him last week. I don’t know this future at Comedy Central Under future ownership.
