“I don’t know” if she’s worthy of the women’s Euro 2025 final against Spain on Sunday after Lauren James won the semi-finals over Italy with an ankle injury and the Chelsea forward was withdrawn at halftime.
Four-time Women’s Super League champion James has started all five England matches in Switzerland and can “do things” on the training pitch, but “still recovers,” coach Salina Wigman said.
“I’m going to give her time because I have two more days,” Wiegman added. “We don’t know yet (if she’s ready), but that’s what we’re going to go. There are 23 players available.”

“We believed there was still a moment,” recalled the 24-year-old. “I was really calm and odd, and I was really confident that we were going to keep up the momentum and keep pushing it all the way through.
“Thankfully, it happened and Michelle had a great finish to send us to the extra time.”
Kelly, who first hits to score a rebound after goalkeeper Laura Giuliani saved the penalty, said Captain Williamson was “just a needed moment” for her England.
“I believe you can always make something happen while you’re on the pitch,” she said. “Michelle got the ball behind the net, like she always does for us.”
