Nottingham Forest Beated by Fulham while Sunderland struggles with Heart
Harry Wilson scored twice, giving Fulham a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest.
Forest Boss Nuno Espirito Santo has appointed an inexperienced Starting XI. They had no answers for the second Wilson brace of the free kick to control the cottage at halftime.
Almost first-choice teams came during the break, including Morgan Gibbs White, Murillo and Chris Wood, but Fulham scored again with Andreas Pereira.
Wood pulled one back with his trademark header, but Forest couldn’t add it to the tally. The defeat comes after goalless was drawn against Chesterfield and Monaco.
Sunderland was beaten in Edinburgh
Sunderland’s summer optimism was diluted by hitting Hart 3-0 in Craig Gordon’s testimony.
Boss Regis Le Bri nominated a strong side, but Warecider was beaten comprehensively by the Scottish premier team thanks to goals from Claudia Braga, Lawrence Shankland and Alexandros Kiziridis.
Le Bris told the club’s website:
“We are probably a little tired, but that’s not an excuse.
“At the end of this game, we missed this opportunity to grow again throughout this preseason, which is why we are disappointed.
“So, a strong reminder: Ah, sometimes you need a punch in your face, saying the season has resumed. That’s right.”
Rangers are back in the draw
Another Northeast East England collision ended 2-2 between the Rangers and Middlesbrough.
Neto Borges and Dael Fry raised the championship side 2-0, but the hosts hit back goals for Danilo and Findlay Curtis’ second half replacements.
Stoke and the Wolf drew Hwang Hee-chan 1-1 to continue equally after the penalty was saved. Bae Junho had previously moved on with Stoke.
Burnley played two games this afternoon, one finished in a 2-2 draw at Shrewsbury and the other won 2-0 at Huddersfield.
Ferguson loves to live with Rome
Evan Ferguson extended his excellent start in Rome with only goal as Gialorossi won at Kaiser Slaughter, and Lyon put financial misery on one side with a 4-0 victory in Hamburg. Malick Faufana was one of Les Ghones’ goals for his final appearance, hoping Everton would lure him to Merseyside.
Celtic ended their preseason campaign with Brendan Rodgers 5-4 penalty winning the Como Cup 5-4, and a 1-1 draw with Al Ali.
Giacomo Laspadri and Lorenzo Lucca scored when Italian champion Napoli defeated Catanzaro 2-1.
