Bengals’ first round pick Shemmer Stewart signs his rookie contract after standoff

The war ended between Shemar Stewart and The Cincinnati Bengals.
rear Monthly Standoffs and Word Warthe first-round pick finally signed his rookie contract on Saturday, the team announced.
Cincy chose Stewart, the defensive end of the Texas A&M, and things went down with his right foot on the 17th overall pick of the April draft.

Bengal reportedly was trying to restructure how it completed its first round of rookie contracts. This will void future guarantees for the team.
“I’m 100% correct,” he said of his stance. About his rookie contract in June. “I’m not asking anything you (the Bengali) have never done before, but in every case, everything just wants to win the argument rather than winning more games.”
Stewart was attending a meeting during the mini-camp, but was not on the field. He did not report to training camp earlier this week.

Back and forth, Stewart’s deal is worth $18.97 million, fully guaranteed and comes with a $10 million signature bonus. He became the last first round pick of 2025 to sign the contract.
The Bengals missed the playoffs last year, mainly due to tinsel defense. Now, the Bengals have been able to turn their attention to Trey Hendrickson, who led the NFL with sacks last year.

But longtime NFL veterinarians have also been holding out, claiming they have never heard of the Bengals’ brass about a new deal since the draft.
