A suspect was taken into custody after at least 11 people were stabbed at Walmart, Michigan

At least 11 people are in the hospital after stabbing him Saturday afternoon at Walmart, Michigan.
Grand Traverse County Sheriff Michaelcia said the 42-year-old man would act alone, enter the Traverse City Store and use a folding knife to stab nearly 12 people.
The suspect, who had not been publicly identified by authorities, was taken into custody without any injuries within minutes. Walmart citizens arrested the man and helped him treat the victim.
Manson Healthcare, a nearby hospital, said five casualties were in serious condition and six were in serious condition. Their age has not yet been released, but the sheriff’s office has confirmed that they are not first responders or Walmart employees.

She said the man would “see” as a Michigan resident, but when asked if she could identify the area the suspect was from, she said she would “not comment.”
According to Deputy Director Dan Bongino, FBI agents are responding to provide support.
In a statement to Fox News Digital, Walmart spokesman “This kind of violence is unacceptable,” Joe Pennington said.
“Our idea is with those injured and we are grateful for the prompt action of our first responders,” Pennington wrote in a statement. “We will continue to work closely with law enforcement during their investigation.”

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer wrote in an X post that he continues to monitor the situation closely.
“I’m in touch with law enforcement about the horrifying news from Traverse City,” Whitmer wrote. “Our idea is that the victims and the community are upset from this cruel act of violence. We are grateful to our first responders for their prompt response to arrest the suspect.”
