Marco Rubio looks back on his journey from Trump’s rival to Secretary of State

A fierce opposition to President Donald Trump, Marco Rubio He is currently the top US diplomat in the president’s cabinet. His transformation is rooted in love for the country and a willingness to accomplish things.

Rubio sat down with Fox News’ Lara Trump this weekend to reflect on her role as Secretary of State, reminding her of her love for MMA and boxing, revealing what it’s like to travel from her rival to her trusty right-handed journey.

“I always laugh at politics because when two guys get to the ring they can like each other and after all the fights they shake hands and they’re grateful for the fight,” he said.

“You respect the person who stepped into that octagon, right? No one would ask that…” he continued.

“So, in 2016, both President Trump And I… just happened to be competing for the same thing. Any competition, especially when you get off and it narrows down to three or four, a punch will be thrown, but that’s over, and he’s a Republican candidate and I’m a Republican so we’re on the same team. ”

“We were on the same team from that point on, and it’s been going on ever since,” he said.

Trump appointed Rubio to serve as Secretary of State for the 72nd Secretary of State shortly after his 2024 victory over then-President Vies. Kamala Harris. The former Florida Senator was one of the first to be confirmed by his cabinet after he assumed his second appointment on January 20th.

Rubio calls working for Trump “a lot of fun… for two reasons,” calling the president a “person of action,” and “an incredible instinct for human behavior.”
