Almirola hit the wall hard, and Hill spins in the grass before returning to the truck to contact the wall. Hill hit with a five-lap penalty for a controversial hit. He told his team on the radio that it was not intentional.
Starch disagrees.
“It was definitely intentional,” Almirola told the CW after being released from the infield care center.ia nascar.com. “He blocked me three times. Finally loosened him at (turn) 3. He caused damage to the nose so he was really slow on the corner. That was time to go. So we came to the 9 and the leader was starting to put a gap on us, so it’s time to go.”
Almirola was not injured, but he said the crash reminded him of the 2017 shipwreck where he broke his back.

“It was violent, to be totally honest,” he added. “It was one of the hardest hits I’ve taken in my NASCAR career. The impact was very similar to when I broke my back. I’m very interested in looking at the black box data from that crash, but it’s malicious and it’s just right.”
Hill told his team he couldn’t stick to the car because he was loose.
Team owner Richard Childress defended Hill, but I don’t think he should be stopped on top of it.
“I didn’t care about (NASCAR) (Austin Sindrick). He destroyed it, admitted it, drove him in the rear right and destroyed him with Kota,” Childress said. Motorsport Wire. “It’s you. We’re a blue-collar team. They always give us trouble.”
