The co-creator of “Daily Show” blames CBS’s fears for cancelling the Colbert Show

Lizz Winstead, co-creator of “The Daily Show,” rang out in an interview with MSNBC about cancelling late-night host Stephen Colbert’s show, accusing CBS of fear.

“To just drop the franchise itself, it’s right, it’s Stephen Colbert, it’s double, it’s double, it’s double, it’s double, is it double, is it right? Winstead wrote the work For Rolling Stone on Friday, she said she doesn’t believe CBS’s explanation to cancel the show.

CBS announced that Colbert’s show will be cancelled at the end of the air season, calling it a “pure financial decision against the challenging late-night background.”

The late-night lineup for the first half of 2025 is a study show with overwhelmingly left-leaning guests.

“So when the truth people are cartoons and those comics actually resonate with people Donald Trump couldn’t reach, he says, Plan B and Plan B are like, “Oh, look at me, I have the merger I need, look at me, ask what I want, I can’t take Lald Zan the Sea, so I can silence those voices.”

The Liberal Party overwhelmingly claimed it Colbert’s show has been cancelled For political reasons.

A few days before cancellation Colbert criticized Paramount’s recent settlement of lawsuits against “60 minutes” for “60 minutes” prior to the pending merger between Paramount and Skydance Media.

Winstead, along with other comedians, claimed Colbert was the real voice on late-night television.

CBS host pours cold water into liberal rage over Colbert cancellation, says late-night industry is “broken”

“When you’re real, people are drawn to you, and there’s nothing more authentic than John, John Stephen. You see these passionate pleas they give each night, and you’re real. And the fire makes you light up. And you hate it.

Winstead wrote to Rolling Stone that he did not believe in CBS’s financial excuses and suggested that the network did not want a progressive voice.

“This is why Colbert’s cancellation is different, not just because he is one of the greats, but because his expulsion is a warning shot. It’s a comedian, even whites, men, and even successful, when he finds an excuse to drive you out beyond that, he’s raised his voice as prime minister.

“Under these thinly veiled excuses there is fear. Fear of what comedians have. Fear of actually listening while people are laughing,” she continued.
