Frank tied his son’s future as Tottenham jetout for the Tottenham preseason tour
Thomas Frank gave nothing about the future of Captain Hyun Min’s son at the club.
The South Korean forward is believed to be considering a move away from north London this summer after leading the Spurs to silverware for the first time in 17 years.
The Saudi Arabian club is keen to sign the 33-year-old, but his son is reportedly in high-level consultations with Los Angeles FC, and can support his reunion with former teammate Hugo Lloris at MLS.
The son’s departure does not occur until the Spurs complete their Asian preseason tour, which includes blockbuster games against Arsenal, Newcastle and Bayern Munich.
The Premier League side will lose up to 75% of its revenue if their son is not featured. So his future will be decided in the coming weeks, not days.
Spurs tour gives Frank the opportunity to dig deeper into his team’s analysis before a new campaign.
So far, he oversees the wins in the Readings and has drawn against Wycombe and Luton, but now we’ll really see the level where his players are opposed to better opposition.
And Dane sat down with the Blazers man to talk about his plans to improve his team that finished 17th in the Premier League, and his son’s future, during his first few weeks in his new role.
He said: “First and foremost, it is important to say that Ange and his staff achieved it on a massive scale by winning the Europa League title.
“What I want to add is probably a little more balance. Of course, if we want to achieve something big, I think we need to do good things at every stage of the game.
“I’m trying to find out all the details that can improve my team or increase my chances of winning.
“Set pieces are one of them. There are a variety of set pieces to try to improve. Long throws are one of them. I think long throws are a good weapon. You don’t necessarily have to use all the games, but you have them in the toolbox.”
To his son, Frank added: “We’re looking at a player who can play a very good role here next season. He’s been trained very hard with a very good mindset.”
There are not many hints on whether or not his son will leave, but for now, at least for now, it appears he is going to continue captaining the spur while preparing for another new era.
