Tottenham defender Udogie may miss the start of the season

Tottenham defender Destiny Udogie suffers a knee injury that could make him suspect the start of a new Premier League season.

The Italian left back missed friendship with Luton on Saturday after picking up a warm-up issue and then did not travel to Hong Kong with the rest of the team for the Asian weekly preseason tour.

The Spurs responded to Champions League winner Parri St. Germain on August 13th, in the Super Cup, and then promoted Burnley in the league opener.

Udogie appears to be missing out while her new signature Kota Takai suffers a leg injury.

However, striker Dominique Solanke managed to face Arsenal in the preseason North London Derby on Thursday.

“Dom looks much better and is progressing,” Frank said. “We’ll see if it’s too early for Arsenal, but we’re positive about him.

“Madders (James Maddison) is getting better and better. It could be premature for Arsenal. We’ll see it again. Rodri (Rodrigo Bentanchour) has returned from illness, so that’s a good thing.

“We have a great, long season to be able to push players, we know how to train, we need to coordinate how to play and train.

“We have the ability to compete in gym sessions, recovery, every tournament. We know. We’ll make some adjustments so that we can compete.”

“Of course we’re looking.”

Tottenham missed signing Morgan Gibbswhite, who is currently signing a new contract in Nottingham Forest, but remains in the market for more options.

Frank is not drawn to what happened in Gibbs White, but he says he wants to strengthen.

“Of course we’re on the market. We know where we want to strengthen our teams in general,” he said.

“I’m happy with the team. We’ve already signed the top at Mohamed Kudus and have already shown him the quality. We have a lot of talent and quality, but of course we have a team that we’re looking at.”
