Tiktok adds YouTube music as an option to save songs to play in videos

Tiktok makes it easy for users to save songs they hear in video clips on the platform to their choice of music streaming platform. Today’s short video service added YouTube music as an option in this list.

The company first introduced this feature. In November 2023, the US and UK support Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music. This feature was launched in February 2024 Over 160 countries around the world. Over time, Tiktok added Deezer and SoundCloud as music streaming options.

Users can select YouTube music by tapping the “Add Song” button under the clip description next to the track name. Users can select their favorite music streaming service. This will be the default for saving songs, or you can change it from the Music menu in Settings.

Adding a song will add it to the Tiktok Songs Playlist on YouTube Music.

“We’ve seen a lot of effort into creating a new world of music business development,” said Tracy Gardner, global music business development manager at Tiktok.
